SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), a non-profit humanitarian organization with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for the below mentioned vacancy:

(3) Officers – Logistics – Zambezia- ZA – SC 11/23 – Mocuba/Morrumbala/Alto- Molocue

Save the Children is currently implementing a food assistance activity for the development of a five-year project called Okhokelamo ni Solha, aimed at mobilizing community participation for sustainable improved food and nutrition security and, resilience among extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households and communities in Zambezia.

The Logistics Officer – will be responsible for the overall management of the regional fleet of vehicles and motorcycles, secondary transportation, project assets including generators in accordance with Title II regulations in two districts of Mocuba & Ile / Morrumbala & Derre / Alto Moloque & Mulevala.

Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of medium level in logistics or any other related course.
  • Candidates with a university degree will have an added advantage.
    Experience and Skills
  • Good working knowledge of logistics management
  • Attend to all personnel movements and produce Movement Plans
  • Minimum of years of relevant experience At least 1-2 years of logistics management experience in humanitarian work in emergency context or IP development, redefining wireless connections.
  • Must understand TCP/IP protocol.
  • Desirable- Experience working in community projects supporting program teams with logistics in the field.
  • Ability to achieve pre-defined results and outcomes using ethical and best practice methods.
  • Ability to demonstrate personal integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Essential – Management of a fleet of 5+ vehicles and 10+ motorcycles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Have worked in NGO’s or partners/CSO’s in Logistics Management at Officer level.
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in case of major emergencies.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft excel
