Norwegian Refugee Council is recruiting (2) Finance Officers for Pemba and Mueda Offices in Cabo Delgado.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Assist with the implementation of the finance function portfolio according to plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of supporting documents according to NRC standards
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the finance function
- Any other responsibility as identified and assigned by supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day to day responsibility of managing petty cash and cash box for Mueda Office
- Day to day responsibility of managing cheque payments;
- Perform cash and bank reconciliations for Mueda office;
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and periodic cash count is done and documented;
- Responsible for the Mueda cash flow and ensuring adequate cash is available for activities;
- Maintain up to date records and project accounts on the Agresso system to ensure timely, accurate and appropriate information;
- Review payment requests for accuracy, completeness, compliance, level of authorization and clarity on the invoices and seek advice from the finance coordinator (in Pemba) if need arises;
- Ensure suppliers are paid on a timely basis;
- Track cash advances and ensure they are cleared on time;
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of University degree in Finance, Economics and any other related course
Experience from working as a Finance Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Some knowledge of English
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good in oral and written English and Portuguese
Good knowledge of the Cabo Delgado context
