SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), a non-profit humanitarian organization with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for the below mentioned vacancy:
The Purpose of the Position
The Project Manager (PM) based in Tete Province, will be responsible for the overall management, implementation and monitoring of a project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented by SCI Mozambique in Tete Province in collaboration with partners ( We world-GVC, CEPCB, SEPPA, KUBECERA), government institutions at provincial and district level and UN systems. The project will aim to Strengthen public investment and service delivery in selected rural districts and municipalities; Increase adoption of climate-smart and productivity enhancing technologies and agricultural practices for conflict affected communities and Improve market integration of non-agricultural economic activities in conflict affected communities.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in project management, postgraduate, or university level in social areas with extensive project management experience and proven experience in areas of livelihoods, resilience and climate change are considered an advantage.
Essential Requirements:
- 5-7 years managing large-scale projects with preferred experience in areas related to resilient livelihoods, youth economic empowerment and peacebuilding;
- 5 to 7 years of experience managing large projects, multiple partners and or complex teams;
- Experience of capacity building of small producers and cooperatives/small emerging producers is considered an advantage;
- Proven experience of collaborating with government authorities and UN system.
- Proven experience in managing multiple stakeholders;
- Experience in market development, value chain analysis and inclusive business;
- Excellent organizational skills Excellent social and networking skills and ability to engage with private sector, civil society, donors and governments.
- Strong written and verbal language skills in Portuguese.
- Fluency in English is required (Italian is an advantage);
- Multidisciplinary profile to support the different specialists in the team.
- Strong leadership skills, particularly mentoring skills;
- Strong communication and facilitation skills;
- Excellent collaboration skills with local, national and civil society stakeholders;
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s objectives, values and principles, including rights-based approaches;
- Excellent understanding/contact with the Mozambican livelihoods context, especially in Tete province is an advantage.
