RTI International is recruiting a Data Officer (m/f) for Maputo, Mozambique.

 

Description
Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Job Purpose: Support the MOH/NTD Program on technical issues related to data management
The Data Officer will support the MOH in the area of strengthening database systems
Duties
Work closely with the MoH’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to support the release of data into SISMA
Assist in the implementation of new M&E tool modules as well as management of NTD programme data in SISMA
Provide assistance to MOH / NTD Programme in the design and maintenance of Excel databases, including all technical issues related to NTD data
Assist in monitoring and periodic updating of the NTD Program drug inventory
Develop M&E systems and tools such as data repositories as well as standard operating procedures, guidelines and other reference documents for M&E to ensure harmonized data collection
Ensure careful and efficient management and quality of data generated in the NTD Programme
Assist in the supervision of activities implemented by the NTD Programme
Assist in monitoring the annual plan of activities of the NTD Programme
Ensure follow-up on recommendations given during implementation of NTD Programme activities and produce necessary reports
Other responsibilities as assigned by the RTI_Act to End NTDs East Project Resident Director and NTD Coordinator.
Requirements
University degree in Information Technology, in-depth knowledge of database
At least three years of experience in data management of MOH programes
At least three years proficiency in using Microsoft Windows/Excel software and one year proficiency in using Access and other sophisticated packages
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented arrangement
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience in epidemiological surveillance, infectious diseases is an advantage
Experience working with USAID or other project funders is an advantage
Proven experience in working with medicines is an advantage
Fluent in Portuguese and English
Good computer (IT) skills
Ability to work under deadlines and willingness to join a busy team
