UNICEF is currently recruiting a Information Management Officer (Health & Nutrition) to be based in Maputo Mozambique.

How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of the Chief of Child Health and Nutrition, The overall purpose of the assignment is to support CHN section to strengthen reporting, monitoring and evaluation by providing an overview of the health, nutrition and HIV emergency response results in Northern Mozambique.  The assignment will directly support data related to health humanitarian response (linked to outbreaks, campaigns, etc.), while strengthening information systems related to data quality, data digitalization and visualization, analysis and use, progress monitoring and quality assurance of services delivered for children.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Lead on emergency and development related information management for health and CHN Section
  2. Programme development, management, monitoring and delivery of results
  3. HMIS strengthening, including quality data reporting
  4. Innovation, knowledge management

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A university degree in one of the following fields is required: nutritional and or/health epidemiology, health related data sciences, statistics, global/international health and nutrition data systems, health/nutrition programme planning and monitoring or another health-related science field in data. An advanced degree and proven relevant experience and results are an asset.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: health and/or nutrition data and information management, public health epidemiology, nutrition surveys, public health assessments and health and nutrition information management in emergencies. Experience with M&E in emergencies, visualization of data and HMIS is required.
  • Experience with innovative uses of data technology for development, such as mobile data collection are highly desirable.
  • Experience in a health/nutrition programme/project in a UN system agency or organization is an asset, especially related to areas of UN programme monitoring, data generation and results tracking.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is required
