JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensures adherence to NRC policies, manuals, handbooks and guidelines in general and in the area of information management in particular.
- Implements the monitoring and evaluation functions delegated to him/her in accordance with the action plan.
- Supports preparation of reports on the progress of M&E activities as requested by the supervisor or management.
- Ensures proper filing of documents according to NRC policies.
- Encourages and makes suggestions for improvement of the M&E functions.
- Supports the M&E Officer in supporting the program staff in the planning and execution of M&E, including data collection methodology and tools, data management and use, or if needed, direct management of these activities
- Promotes accountability to beneficiaries
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support to program teams and partners who can support M&E activities in hard-to-reach areas
- Support data collection during field activities using NRC tools and methodologies
- Support the team in applying and using NRC tools and processes for M&E in accordance with NRC standards and best practices
- Support processes to ensure that data collected by program and M&E staff is of sufficient quality to inform decision making
- Contribute to the writing of M&E reports according to NRC standards
- Proactively support the identification of gaps in M&E-related activities in the capacity of program
- Support information management and quality, including GORS/PowerBI, whose dashboards will be shared monthly, quarterly and annually
- Support the feedback and complaint mechanisms as required and collaborate with M&E technical assistant (AAP – Accountability to Affected Population)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience from working as an Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Knowledge and experience within Monitoring and Evaluation
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Basic knowledge of English
- University degree in relevant field (statistics, etc.)
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent user knowledge of Kobo Collect
- Knowledge of local languages spoken in Cabo Delgado’s Northern Districts, especially Mueda
- Integrity, reliability and ability to respect confidentiality
