Short Description/ Purpose of Job

SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), a humanitarian non-profit organization with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for the below mentioned vacancy:

(1) Coordinator – Procurement (Sourcing) – Quelimane – ZA – SC 04/23 – Zambezia

The Coordinator – Procurement (Sourcing) will ensure that procurement activities are done according to Save The Children and donor procurement manuals, thus providing support to all provinces on the procurement demands of existing programmes/projects in an effective manner. It will also ensure strategic purchases including that the demand reaches the requisitioners in a timely manner, with the required quality, taking into account the principles of transparency and equity.

Qualifications

Higher level preferably in management or accounting.
Experience and Skills

  • At least 2-3 years proven experience in the procurement field;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Portuguese and English languages;
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, considering cultural and language difficulties;
  • Mastery in advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese.
    Essential
  • Ability in conducting and managing purchasing processes and interaction with Suppliers;
  • Experience of working within the voluntary sector / International NGOs;
  • Knowledge of Procurement Techniques (Warehouse), purchasing, fleet management and administration (An advantage)
  • High sense of responsibility and dedication to the task
  • High sense of discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work flexible hours in case of major emergencies
  • Ability to manage many tasks and solve problems and with a lot of initiative,
  • Attention to detail and excellent in calculations.

Desirable

Excellent personal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Proven organisational skills including abilities to plan, prioritise and ensure work is completed in accordance with set requirements and targets.
  • Be a self-motivated individual and humble in dealing with suppliers, colleagues and others who come into contact with Save the Children International.
    Act with ethics in the exercise of the function
  • Knowledge of computer packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email, Internet and other software)
  • Commitment to understanding Save the Children’s goals, values and principles, including rights-based approaches.
