Short Description/ Purpose of the Job
SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), a humanitarian non-profit organization with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for the below mentioned vacancy:
(1) Field Manager CD- SC 15/23 – Cabo Delgado – (Palma)
The Field Manager will be responsible for the effective management of the Palma Field (Office) Programme in accordance with the organizational strategies, policies and procedures. He/she will be expected to lead all aspects of complex field management, including multi-project, development and budget management; coordination and representation of field-level organization, security, logistics, awards management and various teams. He/she will also be expected to play a key role in building capacity at field level and effectively scaling up and managing Save the Children’s emergency programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children.
Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities
Qualifications and Skills
Academic level Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Management or equivalent field. Qualification in Project Management will be an advantage.
Experience and Skills
Essential
- At least 5 years experience working in an emergency response and insecure contexts.
- Experience in managing:
- Large team.
- Projects, including multi-sectoral programmes.
- Budget, including institutional donors.
- Security in insecure environments.
- Representation of the organisation at field level with key stakeholders and in coordination with other NGOs/UN.
- In the area of MEAL and beneficiary accountability.
- Ability to write clear and well-argued evaluations and project reports.
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
- Strong advocacy skills.
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Fluency in Portuguese and level of written and spoken English.
- Ability and willingness to be extremely flexible in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
- Commitment to the objectives and principles of CS. In particular, a good understanding of Save the Children’s mandate and child focus, and the ability to ensure that this continues to underpin our support.
Desirable
- Experience of managing multiple sites.
- Experience of managing ECHO and BHA programmes.
