Short Description/ Purpose of Job

Summary: The Field Officer will play a critical daily role, within gold standards, in delivering GiveDirectly’s key product of cash transfers to donors and recipients. The Field Officer will carry out and support a variety of field activities depending on their assignment and the needs of GiveDirectly on any given day. In summary, the Field Officer will be responsible for carrying out the recipient enquiries and associated processes that facilitate GiveDirectly’s unique cash transfer model, from enrolment of recipients through to the sending of the actual transfers. The role will reward high quality judgement on operational issues and challenges, work ethic, communication skills, and a strong commitment to GiveDirectly’s mission and model.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Field Officer is expected to meet with community leaders and guides to understand community boundaries
    In charge of coordinating with team members to visit all households in the town or community
  • Monitor and complete Census Surveys with accurate data
  • Explain the GiveDirectly programme to eligible families
  • Provide mobile phones and SIM cards as needed
  • Field Officer will identify and eliminate ineligible households
  • Explain and provide safety and preparedness information to recipients
  • Ensure that someone in the household is ready to operate the phone to access the transfers 


Required Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate for the GiveDirecty Field Officer job opportunity should have a Diploma or a Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
  • One to two years of experience in field work with/in vulnerable communities.
  • Experience in data collection and capture on computer and mobile device with good typing skills
  • Possess the ability to conduct and support recipient surveys and associated processes
    Empathy, honesty and the highest standards of integrity
  • Fluency in Portuguese and Sena/ Ndau – Mandatory
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to cope with difficult weather conditions in the field
  • Patience and good judgement in resolving the problems of the recipients
    Contractual Issues:

Duration of contract: 3 Months

Remuneration: 56,880.00 Mzn Monthly
