Short Description/ Purpose of Job
The Supply Chain Officer will ensure the overall effective delivery of all Supply Chain services required to effectively deliver Save the Children International’s (SCI) country programme. He/she will develop the long term Supply Chain departmental plan to support projects and provide overall leadership for the Supply Chain, Procurement, Fleet and Warehouse and Asset Management functions.
The role holder will effectively lead the planning and implementation of all Central Office Supply Chain activities in accordance with Save the Children’s international standards and procedures. He/she will also be expected to develop and strengthen the skills of his/her team members and other Central Office staff where relevant.

Qualifications
Higher education in Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field with a component in Supply Chain Management (Postgraduate level preferred);
Professional Qualification in Supply Chain Management – CIPS or equivalent.
Experience and Skills
Essential
Minimum of 7 years’ work experience in the supply chain area, with at least 5 years in a management role – preferably in an international organisation or NGO;
Long-term planning skills, necessary to plan and implement supply chain processes and procedures;
Teamwork spirit, solutions and service orientated;
Solid, practical experience in emergency response programmes;
Strong budgetary and financial management skills;
Strong interpersonal skills – managing the team and the programme staff they support;
Strong negotiation, communication and analysis skills;
A management style that emphasises support, general guidance and delegation of authority, while maintaining supervision;
Basic knowledge of project management;
Excellent time management and planning skills;
Understanding (or ability to learn) from donors in the NGO sector about national legal requirements for the Supply Chain function, including applicable laws and NGO regulations.
Computer proficiency, ERP knowledge and excellent documentation skills;
Good understanding of projects related to construction and fleet management.
