Job Description:

  • Ensure that WASH NFIs, which include hygiene and sanitation supplies, entrusted to WV are delivered according to plans.
  • Mobilise communities for the distribution of basic necessities, ensuring that everything is prepared to allow the planned activities to take place as planned.
  • Creating, training and equipping WASH committees, providing expertise, guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare the distribution plan and distribution lists for the effective distribution of emergency goods, in accordance with the necessary standards.
  • Monitor the distribution of basic necessities (NFIs) in the district.
  • Ensure an effective information system to produce timely and accurate reports on goods to other key stakeholders, such as the government.
  • Ensure the integration of gender equality and social inclusion, protection and disaster risk reduction into project activities.

Position Requirements:

  • This position requires a mature, dedicated candidate with a willingness to learn and work with others in a team. It also requires a candidate who can carry out field work, who is prepared to travel for long periods of time in difficult terrain, in adverse and demanding conditions, and who is willing to live and work in a very rural context;
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of WASH as well as a basic understanding of aspects of community development and development work among vulnerable people;
  • Degree level or higher in Water Resources Management, Public Health or Sanitation.
  • Must have a Motorcycle Driving Licence, as well as the ability to understand the local language of the Communities;
  • Exposure to community emergency or development work and a strong intercultural sense (an advantage)
