Short Description/ Purpose of Job

The LINK project is an innovative climate adaptation initiative aiming to enhance the climate resilience of 414,857 people in Gaza, Tete, and Manica provinces. It integrates climate adaptation into the national social protection programme, targeting the most vulnerable families to improve food and nutritional security, create local jobs, empower women and youth, and strengthen their adaptive capacity to address climate change impacts. The LINK project is primarily funded by the Green Climate Fund and co-financed by Norad, the Government of Mozambique, and other donors.

The Communications Officer will provide technical assistance related to communication for the MEGA-LINK team. This role involves offering technical guidance on the design of materials and facilitating the development of communication and training materials for project trainers and participants (beneficiaries). Additionally, the Officer will lead the creation of communication materials targeting donors, government, other stakeholders, and the general public. The Communications Officer may also be required to support the organisation of external events involving the media.

The position is based at the provincial office in Chimoio and will require periodic visits to the project’s four district offices (Tete and Chókwè).
