Short Description/ Purpose of Job

Forcier is seeking an Adolescent Mental Health and Psychosocial Well-Being Expert for an anticipated Conrad N. Hilton Foundation program evaluation in Mozambique. The Regional Psychosocial Support Initiatives (REPSSI) in Mozambique aims to improve adolescent and young caregiver mental health and psychosocial well-being. The overall aim of the evaluation is to understand how implementation processes effect short-term outcomes, how adolescent mothers experience the program being evaluated, to understand the contextual factors that enable or hinder this program’s implementation and outcomes.

 

The position will be on a contract basis and is open to Mozambican Nationals only. It is MANDATORY to have past adolescent and young caregiver mental health and psychosocial well-being experience for this role.

Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities

Qualifications and Skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide adolescent mental and psychosocial well-being insights that will influence the methodology of the rapid-cycle evaluation
  • Assist in the analysis of how adolescent caregivers experience the REPSSI program, how it could potentially be adapted to better suit participant needs and the needs of their young children.
  • Provide feedback on implementation progress and short-term outcomes based on the data collected
  • Identify implementation bottlenecks and recommend solutions, particularly those affecting project objectives

Requirements

• Knowledge of early childhood development, nurturing care and psychosocial wellbeing and mental health programs in Mozambique including programs focused on young parents and their young children (0-3 years old).

• Demonstrated expertise in evaluation and research methods, including experience conducting implementation research or process evaluation and measuring outcomes related to responsive caregiving practices and psychosocial wellbeing and mental health.

• An excellent track record working with non-governmental organizations and civil society to implement monitoring and evaluation projects.

• Knowledge of relevant language skills including Portuguese, English and relevant local languages.

• Relationship management and facilitation skills to work collaboratively with multiple partner stakeholders throughout the process.

• Experience working with philanthropic organizations in an evaluation capacity.
