SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), a non-profit humanitarian organisation with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for a Cleaning Assistant vacancy:
Save the Children is currently implementing a food assistance activity for the development of a five-year project called Okhokelamo ni Solha, aimed at mobilising community participation for improved sustainable food and nutrition security and resilience among extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households and communities in Zambezia.
The Cleaning Assistant is part of the Administrative department and reports to the Senior Coordinator of Human Resources and Administration. He/she is responsible for cleaning the office, cleaning the guest house and surrounding areas and maintaining SCIMOZ property in the office and guest house, receiving, processing mail in and out of the office and supporting the organisation of events.
Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities
Qualifications
Minimum Grade 7 qualification;
High level of integrity, confidentiality and ability to work in a team;
At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position;
Essential
Ability to work independently, take personal initiative and perform multiple tasks at the same time,
Excellent people skills;
Be a local resident;
Be a self-motivated and humble individual in dealing with the public, colleagues and other people who come into contact with Save the Children International in Mozambique;
Act ethically in the exercise of the function;
Be able to work under pressure and be available to work whenever necessary outside normal office hours;
Be a good worker, honest and reliable and good presentation;
Ability to receive and follow basic job instructions well;
Ability to work without constant supervision and as an integral part of a team and contribute to teamwork;
Be hygienic and flexible;
Have good manners when speaking to and receiving guests.
Desirable
Have confidentiality and protect the image of Save the children International in Mozambique;
Possess oral and written communication skills in the Portuguese language;
Commitment to understand and apply the values, objectives and principles of Save the Children International.
