Purpose of the Position:
The Ayuda en Acción Foundation is an organisation with an international presence that, from a global commitment, has been fighting against poverty, inequality and exclusion since its birth in 1981. Our sphere of action is implanted in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and since 2013 also in Spain. In those territories and settlements with greater vulnerability and less access to opportunities to be able to exercise their rights with equality and equity. A non-denominational and non-partisan organisation, committed to the values that emanate from the respect for Human Rights and that creates the need to generate changes that enable social justice, supporting the causes that generate inequality of opportunities, social exclusion and poverty.
Since 2019 Ayuda en Acción has been developing projects in the humanitarian area in Mozambique in Cabo Delgado Province, as part of the response to the crisis of internal displacement caused by armed violence in the centre / north of the Province.
With the present position we are looking for a candidate to provide support in the communication and information area of the organization.
Main responsibilities
Identify and collect data, photographs, videos, testimonies, life stories, etc. to feed the different pieces of communication and the monitoring and evaluation reports of the different projects of the National Programme;
To produce internal and external communication pieces for the organisation: newsletters, interviews and texts for the web, among others;
To prepare internal and external reports for communication about the National Programme projects;
To organize events for AeA’s visibility;
To participate in AeA meetings and provide support required for the management of local operations;
Support in managing relations with partners and participants in the country programme projects;
To keep the AeA Mozambique knowledge centre updated;
Participate in meetings with private sector and government.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
Leadership and organizational skills and have a flexible and analytical approach to problem solving;
Bachelor or Master degree in Management, Communication or Journalism;
Minimum 3 years experience in Communication and Information;
Experience in designing, implementing and monitoring communication plans;
High skills in capturing and editing photographs and videos for the press, social networks and different media;
Excellent skills in writing texts adapted to different communication formats and contexts: press releases, blog entries, in-depth interviews,
Relationships and knowledge of the important media at the level of Cabo Delgado and the country;
Excellent analytical capacity and ability to adapt to changes.
Skills and competences
Fluent in Portuguese languages and an advanced level of English and basic knowledge of Spanish;
Ability to work independently and to take initiatives;
Fluency in local languages is an advantage.

Good behaviour and attitude;
Ability to work independently in a team and under pressure.
