Short Description/ Purpose of the Job
The main role of the driver is to ensure the responsible use of the vehicle, maintenance, fuel control of all district vehicles and the safe transport of passengers, goods and correspondence in accordance with driving regulations and in compliance with World Vision’s internal rules and policies, in order to contribute to optimising the results of the District Programme.

Responsibilities
- Report abnormalities, damage or accidents to the supervisor or designated person, in accordance with the Organisation’s rules and procedures.
- Filling in all the information in the vehicle logbook on a daily basis and evaluating fuel consumption according to the distances travelled and submitting it to the supervisor on a monthly basis.
Requirements
- Grade 10 in the national education system;
- Have 3 years’ experience of safely transporting people and goods, including in rural contexts and in precarious road and street conditions;
- Vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption control;
- Experience of working in community development and/or emergency programmes is an advantage;
- Valid driving licence for the transport of people and goods at a public professional level; and
- Certification in defensive driving is an advantage.
