Qualifications

Minimum of 12th Grade or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Driver

• Proven work experience in the field of community development (an advantage)

• Valid professional driving licence

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Fluent in Emakua language

• Ability to manage and maintain vehicles

Desirable

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

• Knowledge of the current Road Code in the Republic of Mozambique

• Mechanical knowledge, basic servicing and maintenance skills (desirable)

• HGV licence (desirable)

• Proven organisational ability including skills to plan, set priorities and ensure work is delivered in line with requirements and set targets

• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work beyond normal working hours, weekends, and public holidays when required

• Knowledge of Portuguese (spoken and written)

• Self-motivated and humble in dealing with communities, colleagues and other individuals who engage with Save the Children

• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values, and principles, including rights-based approaches
