Short Description/ Purpose of Job
The holder of this post must guarantee the transport of SCI staff on duty, visitors, material, goods and correspondence to and from Save the Children (SCI) offices, provinces or programmes and projects in an appropriate, careful manner and always in strict compliance with the organisation’s policy on safe driving and the provisions of the Highway Code. As with other posts, the Driver’s role is important because it depends on the speed of implementation of activities to achieve the organisation’s mission.

Qualifications
Minimum grade 12 or equivalent in experience, preferably with training in mechanics.
Experience and Skills
Essential
Proven work experience in the field of community development (an advantage)
Knowledge of mechanics, basic overhaul and maintenance skills (desirable)
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Proven organisational skills including the ability to plan, prioritise and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the requirements and targets set.
Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work whenever necessary outside normal office hours, at weekends and on public holidays
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s objectives, values and principles, including rights-based approaches.
Desirable
Experience in designing, implementing and managing education programmes in Mozambique or similar contexts;
Understanding of gender-sensitive teaching and learning processes and environments;
Experience in ongoing evaluations, monitoring improvements in the education context and in the management of education programmes.
Strong capacity building skills.
