  • Perform community mobilisation and sensitisation to join initiatives undertaken by World Vision in emergency response efforts.
  • Conduct rapid assessments in liaison with other relevant sectors such as programme, protection, community committees and local government services.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the beneficiary selection process prioritises the most vulnerable (e.g. the elderly, people with disabilities, women, child-headed households, etc.).
  • Prepare distribution plans and mobilise communities for the distribution of NFIs to ensure that beneficiaries receive supplies in accordance with the plans.
  • Develop and update an appropriate shelter and education approach to the response, taking into account the local context, gender, climate and environmental protection and local resources.
  • Ensure the collection of the necessary data to enable effective monitoring of the defined indicators.
  • Ensure an effective information system to produce timely and accurate reports on distributions and training for WV and other key stakeholders such as the Government.

Qualifications and Skills

Position Requirements:

  • Proven professional experience in supervising field distributions and knowledge of community mobilisation;
  • Bachelor’s or High School degree, preferably in Social Sciences, Development or related fields of study.
  • Willingness to carry out field work, prepared to travel for long periods of time in difficult terrain, in harsh and demanding conditions, and willing to live and work in a very rural context.
  • At least one relevant previous experience, including exposure to community emergencies or development work and with a strong intercultural sense.
  • Solid knowledge of technical guidelines and humanitarian standards related to shelter and education;
  • Experience working in the context of displacement and experience working as a field officer are highly desirable.
