Short Description/ Purpose of Job

II. Position Summary
The FMIS Coordinator will lead the supervision of data collection and the digital implementation of solutions. They will assist project teams in refining implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of digitalization. The coordinator will contribute to capacity-building efforts of project staff and partners in data management activities, including data collection, use, and dissemination.

III. General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Data Management, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in supervising and leading digital initiatives, coordinating and supervising data collection methodologies, preferably in agricultural contexts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of data collection protocols to ensure accurate data collection and verification; ability to identify data trends and communicate this information for strategic decision-making in program implementation.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (written, spoken, and read).
  • Availability to frequently travel to the field.
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and databases).

IV. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate data collection, guide, and coordinate field activities to collect agricultural data from local farmers and other stakeholders in the SDZ of Gorongosa National Park;
  • Lead the digitalization implementation, collaborate closely with senior management and agricultural specialists to develop and implement digital solutions aimed at optimizing agricultural practices;
  • Use Power BI to analyze and visualize agricultural data, providing crucial insights for decision-making and strategic planning;
  • Provide supervision, training, and support to GNP staff and local community members on data collection techniques and the use of digital tools;
  • Supervise the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of digitalization initiatives on agricultural productivity and sustainability;
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate records of data collection processes, analyses, and results for reporting and documentation purposes;
  • Promote positive relations with local farmers, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of digital agricultural initiatives.
