Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Skills Coordinator of the GeraSol Programme, provide technical assistance to IICN, private companies and entrepreneurs to match the training curriculum with the job requirements of the market;
Assist in the selection and recruitment of trainees, especially those who are likely to start their own business;
Serve as the GeraSol Programme’s liaison with private sector players in the green energy sector, mainly, but not exclusively, in the solar energy sub-sector;

Lead the following activities:

Selecting and recruiting candidates for training as independent entrepreneurs;
Identifying complementary product lines to increase the viability of independent, usually informal, businesses;
Carrying out local assessments to identify potential markets for green products;
Guiding, training and providing long-term support to small businesses in the sector;
Recommending suitable starter kits for both independent companies and company agents and employees;
Provide policy advice to reduce the tax burden on companies and their sales agents;
Advising companies on how to make their working environment more inclusive and more attractive to sales agents and other staff, including gender and safeguarding policies;
Using company data and interviews with programme graduates, estimating their income and job satisfaction;
Overseeing the results-based financing system of incentives for companies to train, hire, promote and retain young graduates through the programme;
Design and oversee business credit lines for self-employed entrepreneurs who benefit from IICN training;
Report retention and attrition rates by type of employee and gender;
Report on the satisfaction of companies with IICN and of those hired after GeraSol training.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications
Key Requirements:

Degree in economics, rural development or other relevant field;
5 years’ experience in promoting youth employment;
Demonstrated understanding of the solar energy sector, especially off-grid electrification;
Experience of working with companies in the formal and informal sector;
Intercultural skills and experience of managing multiple complex tasks;
Strong facilitation skills and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Effective networking skills, with the ability to develop a wide range of relevant contacts;
Good computer skills in MS applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power-Point);
Oral and written proficiency in Portuguese and English;
Willingness to travel frequently nationwide;
Legally able to work in Mozambique.
