Short Description/ Purpose of Job

Job Summary

A Communications and Public Relations specialist to build and maintain a positive public image for the organization. To create media from press releases to social media messages that shape public opinion of the company or organization. Increase awareness of its brand, to develop tactical strategy and delivery plans, formulate associated practice and to ensure operational implementation and adoption across a single practice i.t.o. Communication methodology, governance and delivery objectives. To create and deliver communications by ensuring consistent cascade of messages via video, newsletters, magazines, event management. Covering conferences, seminars and product launches. To focus the attention of the in-country MD on putting the customer at the Centre of all we do. Establish and maintain good contacts with key stakeholders to ensure sustainable partnerships.

Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities

Qualifications and Skills

  • Drafts all institutional communication (internal or external) and reviews any communication produced by the different areas of the Bank before it is published for coherence and accuracy with overall Bank positioning;
  • Builds and delivers the Narrative to support the internal and external communication of the strategy of the Bank and its market positioning;
  • Integrated Communication Strategy: Develop and manage a sustainable cluster specific integrated communication strategy that supports the cluster and aligns with strategic intent and direction at group level.
  • Communication Delivery and Content Management: Facilitate and implement communication platforms that will allow the cluster leadership to engage regularly with employees thus ensuring visible leadership and engaged employees.
  • Responding to requests for information release or press conference from the media or designating a spokesperson or source of information.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with consumer, community, employee, and public interest groups.

 

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, PR, marketing or related field.
  • Experience handling a press conference and crises management

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to pitch to media.
  • Knowledge of consumer marketing.
  • Banking Knowledge is an advantage
  • An ability to work on big strategy plans as well as day-to-day tasks.
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
  • Ability to run PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet objectives.
  • Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, with great follow-up and reporting skills.
  • Project and budget management skills.
  • Responds well under pressure with strict time limit.
  • Quick and enthusiastic learner.
