SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), a humanitarian non-profit organization with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for the below mentioned vacancy:
1 Information Technology (IT) Officer ZB SC VG 01/23- Quelimane
Under the guidance of the IT manager, the IT Officer will be responsible for facilitating the management and maintenance of the IT environment and infrastructure, including research, design and development of application systems and providing technical support and training to users; updates and computerizes the main activities of the organization; deploys and administers communication and application technology through the best available infrastructure for processing the organization’s information. The IT Officer may be called upon when required to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis.
Qualifications
Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science or Diploma in Advanced Information Technology from a reputable institution;
Experience and Skills
Skills and experience in application development will be an added advantage.
Hands-on experience with computer networking, network administration and network installation
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems.
Minimum 3 years experience in ICT Support and Management.
Familiar with all aspects of day-to-day management of an organization’s IT needs, with specific job areas involved; familiarity with Windows and MS Office products, LAN/WAN infrastructure (routers, modems, switches, etc.); troubleshooting and administration of networks (LAN) and servers; good working knowledge of Windows server and domain system configuration, antivirus software management, etc.
Good communication skills and a strong positive attitude towards learning
Fluency in written and spoken English
Previous experience in an INGO is an advantage but not a requirement
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
Ability and experience in training end users or staff
