Short Description/ Purpose of Job
Purpose of the position
Ayuda en Acción (AeA) in partnership with Espacio Libre de la Juventud (ELJ), are implementing a Project coordinated by UNOPS under the Northern Crisis Recovery Project (NCRP), under Component 2: Provision of livelihood and economic opportunities for IDPs and communities.
Overall Project Objective is to improve the livelihoods of IDP and host communities in Cabo Delgado through income generation, with special focus on youth, women and vulnerable groups and the Specific Objective is to increase and strengthen the capacities of IDPs and host communities to improve access to employment, self-employment and income generation:
Logistics and Procurement Assistant will be based in Montepuez, Cabo Delgado and will have the responsibility to assist the Coordination and Partners team to implement the project Improving Access to Economic Opportunities for IDPs and host communities in 5 districts of Cabo Delgado (Ancuabe, Balama, Montepuez, Mecufi and Namuno).
Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities
Responsibilities and functions
Procurement
- Assist in the identification of potential suppliers and service providers;
- Support the Head of Procurement and Logistics to coordinate the whole process of acquisition of goods and contracting of service providers;
- Support the office in receiving and dispatching goods;
- Maintain a file copy of all documents related to procurement and logistics processes, and ensure the expedition of the originals to the central office (Pemba);
- Regularly monitor all matters related to logistics and warehouses.
Logistics
- Assist the procurement and logistics of the organization and implementation of all logistics processes;
- Support and verify warehouse stock movements;
Support the management of all service delivery and supply contracts; - Provide administrative support to the office.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience.
Proven work experience in purchasing or similar role is an advantage; - One to two years of work experience in relevant field, mainly in NGO’s.
Skills and competences
- Grade 12 (completed), administration, logistics, procurement, accounting or relevant area;
- Training in Procurement and Logistics courses is a big advantage.
Other requirements
- Knowledge of practices research, evaluation and contact with suppliers is an advantage;
- Analytical skills;
- Mozambican Nationality;
- Negotiation skills.
Additional Requirements
- Excellent communication skills both in Portuguese (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel and word)
