MSF Belgium is active in the area of prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS at Sofala Province level, including primary health care, and water and sanitation, in Cabo Delgado, it has been active in emergency response actions resulting from various factors
MSF is looking for a Pharmacy Supervisor for the Mission in Mozambique
Workplace: Palma (Cabo Delgado)
Objective: Ensure the overall functioning of the Pharmacy and supervise the Pharmacy supply chain system according to MSF standards, protocols and procedures in order to ensure its efficiency and operability
Duties
Ensure stocking, stock management and procurement, as well as hygiene and safety procedures, protocols and tools (control pests and rodents), implement quality control and appropriate records in order to ensure good storage conditions (temperature, humidity and exposure to light) and availability of medicines and medical supplies, according to MSF protocols, national regulations and in cooperation with the Logistics department
Coordinate the delivery, reception and registration of national and international orders, in close collaboration with the Logistics department, updating stock sheets and informing Supervisors of their status (stock-outs, overstock, expiry dates), in order to permanently ensure stock levels and efficient stock management
Supervising orders for medical supplies and medicines in order to ensure an efficient and appropriate standard of consumption within budget limits Supervising the supply of medicines to patients, according to medical prescriptions and informing them of consumption patterns in order to ensure their therapeutic progression
Ensure efficient provisioning to other Pharmacies that are managed or supported by MSF according to orders and stocking, using cold chain when necessary Monitor and analyse orders from dependent pharmacies to avoid stock-outs and having expired medicines
Supervise, with HR department, the associated processes (team size, team shifts, training, performance, assessments, development, external or internal communication) of the Pharmacy team to ensure the correct number of members are in place, have necessary knowledge and enhance their capabilities
Encode all items received and published on computer (Isystock) and report the consumption of medicines and medical supplies given according to protocols, reporting on current patterns and being able to forecast future needs in order to rationalise the use of budget and ensure availability
Assist in the training of nursing staff with regard to their ability to dispense medicines and their side effects
Requirements
Essential Diploma in Pharmacy Management or similar (Nursing, Pharmacy…)
At least 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Supervisor is essential
Verbal and written fluency in local languages (Kimwani, Kimakwe, Kiswahili) and Portuguese is an advantage
