Short Description/ Purpose of Job
The main purpose of the Procurement Coordinator will be to ensure that, at Gaza Office level, procurement is carried out in accordance with Save The Children’s Procurement Manual, ensuring that procurement is based on the sourcing pipeline that results from updated procurement plans that are in the AMS in order to guarantee strategic purchases and that demand reaches requesters in a timely manner, with the required quality and taking into account the principles of transparency, fairness and cost-effectiveness. The Procurement Coordinator will also ensure that the province is adequately supported in its procurement services to meet the demands of the programmes efficiently, effectively and in close compliance with the rules and regulations of Save the Children in Mozambique (SCIMOZ) and the donors.

Qualifications and Skills
- Licentiate degree in Management, Supply Chain or Accounting or equivalent field experience.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 3 years’ proven experience in procurement;
- Ability to manage and interact with suppliers;
- Experience of working within the voluntary sector / International NGOs;
- Excellent people skills;
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
- Proven organisational skills including the ability to plan, prioritise and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the requirements and targets set;
- Be a self-motivated and humble individual in dealing with suppliers, colleagues and other people who come into contact with Save the Children International;
- Act ethically in the performance of their duties;
- Knowledge of computer packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email, Internet and other software);
- Knowledge of the PROSAVE system;
Speak and write fluent Portuguese and have a solid knowledge of English; - High sense of responsibility and dedication to the task;
- High sense of discretion when dealing with confidential information;
- Ability to work under pressure and willing to work whenever necessary outside normal office hours;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to solve problems, with lots of initiative and innovation;
- Ability to manage many tasks;
- Courtesy and negotiation skills;
- Flexibility under pressure and able to respond to changing needs;
- Attention to detail and excellent at calculations;
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s objectives, values and principles, including rights-based approaches.
Desirable
Knowledge of procurement, warehousing and administration (an advantage)
Experience of working in emergency response
