Short Description/ Purpose of the Job

Coca – Cola Beverages Africa has a vacancy for a Production Team Supervisor in one of our factories in Mozambique – Matola-Gare factory, leader in the production of various flavours in Mozambique for the last 30 years. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. The main role of the Production Team Supervisor is to lead the execution of the production plan, ensuring that the product meets all quality specifications, take care of assets through autonomous maintenance tasks and the resolution of production problems. The role will manage and lead the production team, consisting of craftsmen, operators and quality controllers, ensuring that overall objectives are achieved through best operational practices.

Team Management Practices

– Guide team members in the correct execution of their tasks;
– Ensure that team members carry out the necessary quality checks and that information is recorded in the appropriate systems;
– Developing team members and ensuring that training needs are identified and met;
– Conduct performance management practices by holding meetings and review sessions on team objectives;
– Manage staff resource availability, leave, staffing and attendance.


Conduct shift work management initiatives

– Communicate work practice implementation plans and ensure team adherence;
– Guides team members in resolving situational problems;
– Ensure that team members implement and comply with production standards;

Control of operations and processes

– Ensure that team members understand and comply with operational, quality and process standards, work instructions and maintenance schedules, work practice implementation plans and performance objectives;
– Review and sign off on shift performance (QCDSM) and ensure that all administrative tasks required to support the production team are carried out;
– Identify the need to update work instructions and ensure resources are made available to do so;

Maintenance of facilities and equipment

– Verify that team members carry out necessary autonomous maintenance tasks and any necessary operational repairs during the shift in accordance with work instructions and maintenance schedules;
– Ensure that the process craftsman carries out repairs during the shift and guides team members in autonomous maintenance activities and carries out support work for maintenance specialists;
– Attends maintenance planning meetings to highlight maintenance issues that require attention;
– When maintenance issues are referred to the Production Team Supervisor, he/she, in conjunction with the manufacturing technician , shall provide guidance and call in additional resources if required.

Quality Control and Analysis
– Ensure that team members understand and comply with quality standards;
– Verifies that team members perform routine quality checks and analysis in accordance with work instructions;
– Perform quality trend analysis to identify problems and decide on appropriate measures to resolve them ;
– Ensure that appropriate quality information is recorded according to schedule (manually and/or electronically).

Communication

– Communicate team objectives and review them regularly to ensure team alignment;
– Prepare the daily shift meeting by reviewing the previous shift performance and identifying issues for discussion by the team;
– Ensure visual management charts are updated prior to shift meetings;
– Conduct the daily shift meeting using a standard agenda and ensuring active participation from team members;

Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications

– Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent.
– 3-5 years experience in this role or similar role FMCG environment.
– Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
– Knowledge of The Manufacturing Way / WCM / Lean practices and principles.
– Knowledge of SHE policies and procedures.
– Maximum age 35 years.
