Gender Transformative and Nutrition Sensitive (GTNS) Project Associate (Field Coordinator)

Qualifications and Skills
● Postgraduate University Degree or equivalent with relevant work experience in development studies, social development, gender studies or equivalent;
● Expert in women empowerment and gender equality.
● Strong writing and communication skills;
● Expertise in qualitative and quantitative data analysis
● Computer literacy (minimum MS Word, Excel, SPSS/STATA).
● Must be proficient in English and Portuguese.
General Professional Experience
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Support provincial and district governments, cooperating partners, and WFP field staff in coordinating and ensure that programme activities are implemented with quality and timely.
2.Determine programme needs and support the development of programme action plans in joined collaboration with local authorities and cooperating partners.
3.Responsible for supervising all project activities and any assessments and reporting at provincial and district level.
4.Responsible for coordinating with counterparts (cooperating partners, local governments, etc) at provincial and district level. The coordination includes daily communication and weekly meetings with partners to discuss activities, performance, and expenditures. Conducting district and provincial coordination meetings, and bi-annual workshops.
5.Support the country office in the preparation of the field level agreements with WFP cooperating partners and letters of understanding with the government counterparts.
6.Provide technical and administrative support to the 6 field program assistants/monitoring based in Chemba district. It will be important to ensure daily communication with the filed monitors, reviewing weekly workplans and reports and provide timely feedback.
7.Provide direct supervision to the six field program assistants/monitoring based in Chemba. This would include the development of supervision forms, managing and reviewing the data collected by the staff during monitoring and supervision visits to the project activities, organizing regular meetings with the staff to review project performance, and conducting field supervision visits.
8.Prepare implementation progress reports to the country office following the country office guidance.
9.Manage any of the project related trainings.
10.Maintain diplomatic and high-quality interactions and clear and consistent communications internally and with partners in the field, and at central, provincial and district level.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Nutrition / Agriculture / Gender-related field, with an emphasis on community nutrition, public health nutrition, Social Behavior Change and Communication (SBCC), gender, food security or other relevant sub-specialty, with six (6) years of experience in relevant area.
Languages: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
– Minimum of three years’ experience designing/managing/implementing multi-sectoral nutrition and/or gender programs.
– Relevant work experience in Mozambique.
– Experience working with WFP in nutrition and/or FFA and/or PHL and/or Gender is preferable.
– Experience working in partnership with NGOs, government, and civil society.
