Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Development Studies, or related fields in social sciences or development. A certified training in the context of DRR will be considered an advantage.

Essential Experience and Skills

• Minimum of three (03) years of proven experience in the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) sectors and/or income-generation initiatives linked to the green economy.
• At least three (03) years of experience coordinating activities at district level and with strategic partners.
• Proven knowledge of district-level planning processes, as well as the legal and operational framework for emergency responses in Mozambique, including professional interaction with INGD, INAS, and other relevant actors.
• Experience in developing tools related to PEBE, Early Action Plans, and Local Adaptation Plans.
• A proven track record of working in an inter-agency network is considered an additional asset.
• Experience working in international organisations is considered an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven organisational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise, and ensure work is completed in line with set requirements and goals.
• Capacity to work in a multicultural environment.
• Ethical conduct in professional responsibilities.
• Proficiency in IT tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email, MS Teams, Internet, and other software).
• Fluency in Portuguese (spoken and written) and basic knowledge of English.
• Commitment to understanding and applying Save the Children’s values, objectives, and principles.
