Short Description/ Purpose of Job
The role of the Sponsorship Assistant is to manage and maintain the WV sponsorship correspondence and information system for a designated number of registered children in a designated area, while working to effectively communicate the sponsorship approach to the local community. This work involves a significant amount with correspondence and computer systems, but sometimes in the community to contribute to relationship building. Sponsorship Assistants are divided into correspondence or systems, to distinguish whether their focus is on managing correspondence or managing data in the system.
Recruitment Description/ Key Accountabilities
Education and Knowledge
- Medium level, preferably bachelor’s degree
Experience
- At least 2 years previous experience.
- Solid knowledge in data entry.
- Development experience is an advantage but not essential.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the language spoken in the work area, Portuguese and English.
- Ability to work as a team member in a diverse team.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computers, or other similar packages and ability to learn new packages. A degree in Computer Science and Technology is an essential advantage.
- Detailed focus, with the ability to analyze and review large amounts of letters, photos, videos but still be able to identify errors.
- Ability to communicate in a simple way that can be understood by non-technical people.
Work environment
Based in Memba District Office, with frequent travel to the community.
