Purpose of the position:

To manage and supervise the incorporation and use of the financial, human and material resources of Ayuda en Acción in Mozambique in accordance with the principles of transparency, quality, austerity and efficiency that the organisation promotes, always ensuring the best management of the entity’s assets;
Collaborate in the achievement of the organisation’s objectives and drive the implementation and execution of the institutional processes in Mozambique, in coordination with the Head Office teams in Spain and the Mozambique Country Programme team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial, human and material resources of the institution in accordance with legality and current control systems;
  • In coordination with the other heads of Ayuda en Acción in Mozambique and the headquarters team, ensure the appropriate allocation of resources for the efficient fulfilment of the foundational objectives of the institution;
  • Manage the human resources of Ayuda en Acción Mozambique: selection, incorporation, payment of salaries, training, temporary leave, termination of employment, etc., in strict compliance with applicable regulations;
  • To supervise and manage the procurement of goods and the contracting of works and services, in accordance with the applicable procedures and regulations;
  • To support the budgeting, execution and control of Ayuda en Acción’s financial resources in Mozambique;
  • To supervise and manage the institutional treasury, as well as the preparation and updating of the inventory of assets
  • To prepare periodically the financial statements in accordance with the legal and fiscal regulations and the accounting principles and regulations in force in the country, ensuring their compliance with the IFRS;
  • Supervise the correct execution of the organisation’s financial, accounting and administrative processes, as well as those outsourced to third parties, so that they meet the needs of Ayuda en Acción de Moçambique and are provided in a timely manner;
  • To report periodically through the established channels and using the relevant tools the accounting and financial statements to the Ayuda en Acción Foundation;
    Ensure compliance with all legal and fiscal obligations of the institution in accordance with the requirements and regulations of the institution itself, as well as of all relevant public and private bodies;
  • To control and monitor the implementation of funds allocated by Ayuda en Acción Moçambique for the implementation of projects, whether these are managed by Ayuda en Acción Moçambique or by Local Partners;
  • To coordinate the administrative and financial monitoring, supervision and audit of the institution;
  • Any other activity inherent to the post.

Requirements
Knowledge and experience:

  • Desirable: Certified Public Accountant (OCAM);
    Advanced studies in Auditing, Economics, Business Administration or Accounting;
  • At least 10 years of experience in similar positions in international cooperation organizations;
    Advanced knowledge of accounting, cash management, fiscal and budgetary management;
  • Knowledge of current labour, fiscal and contractual legal framework;
  • Experience in project management with international donors (AECID, EU, etc.);
    Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet;
    Knowledge of ERP, knowledge of SAP is a plus;
    Valid driving licence (valued).

Language Skills:

  • Essential: Portuguese/English – C1: Advanced, C2: Professional.
  • Highly desirable: Spanish – B2: Intermediate, C1: Advanced, C2: Professional, Native.

Geographical mobility

  • National.

Other requirements:

  • Windows (Intermediate or Advanced);
  • Knowledge of SAP or other CRM.

Skills and competencies:

  • Ability to interlocutor, build and maintain effective relationships with the Organization’s team and external partners;
  • Portuguese (spoken and written) is an advantage. English is a must;
  • Results-oriented;
    Strictness both in the quality of the information and in the compliance with the established deadlines;

Conditions of the offer:

  • Incorporation: Immediate.
  • Contract Period: Temporary – 1 year – Renewable;
  • Workday: Full time (40hrs per week);
  • Schedule: We are committed to reconciling personal and professional life, so we have ample time flexibility: Possibility of entry / liaison from 7.30am to 10am.
  • Work place: Pemba
    Remuneration/Salary in accordance with Ayuda en Acción’s remuneration policy.
