Responsibilities

• Develop and provide training to a network of local extension officers with active participation of community and local government stakeholders.
• Identify and recommend areas for specific training and capacity building, both for staff and target communities, and facilitate trainings, consultative workshops and field-based capacity building activities.
• Facilitate technical support for IDP and returnee farming households.
• Promote distribution of technologies, inputs, and agricultural extension services using market-based approaches.
• Actively participate and report on progress of field activities, including successes, challenges, and lessons learned, and provide feedback into methodologies, approaches, and project deliverables.
• Perform any other tasks as required by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, agricultural extension or related fields.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in designing, managing and monitoring agricultural extension activities at the community level.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting training, workshops, consultations and needs assessments.
  Demonstrated ability to engage with communities to understand the various dynamics and interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Past exposure and experience in practical field-based activity implementation in remote environments.
• Mozambican nationality or permanent residency required.
• Fluency in written and oral English required.
• Portuguese language proficiency is preferred, as well as languages or dialects spoken in northern Mozambique, such as Makua-Lomwe or dialects of Tsonga and Shona.
