Short Description/ Purpose of Job
The Climate Literacy Officer will be responsible for implementing climate literacy activities in schools across the Gaza province, using the Green Mindset Framework (a new tool developed by Save the Children International). They will work closely with partners such as Moz Hydroponics and local authorities to promote climate education among children and young people, support the creation and revitalisation of environmental clubs, and train teachers and community facilitators. This role is vital to achieving the objectives of the LINK project in climate literacy and sustainable engagement within school communities.
The LINK project officer will oversee the implementation of project activities at the district level, ensuring alignment with the LINK project’s goals and objectives. They will collaborate with local authorities, partners, and communities to ensure effective project execution at the district level.
The Climate Literacy Officer will be based in Chókwé, covering the respective districts (three in each province). Although the Officer will not have direct budgetary responsibilities, they must contribute to the efficient use of resources in climate literacy activities. This role involves frequent visits to schools and communities to implement educational activities and revitalise environmental clubs. The officer must work closely with local partners, especially Moz Hydroponics, and government authorities to strengthen project activities in schools and ensure community integration and adherence, thereby ensuring the LINK project’s goals are achieved effectively.
