Short Description/ Purpose of Job
The Driver will ensure the transport of service personnel, visitors, material, goods and SCIMOZ correspondence to and from the offices, provinces or programs and projects of Save the Children Mozambique (SCIMOZ) in a proper, careful manner and always in strict compliance with Save the Children’s policy on safe driving and the provisions of the Highway Code. Like other positions, the role of the driver is very important because it depends on the speed of execution of activities to achieve the organization’s mission

Qualifications
- Minimum academic level Grade 10 or equivalent in experience preferably with a background in mechanics or related field.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a driver;
- Proven work experience in the field of community development (an advantage);
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- Fluent in the local language;
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability in the control and maintenance of vehicles;
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s objectives, values and principles, including rights-based approaches
Desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
- Knowledge of the current Road Code in the Republic of Mozambique;
- Knowledge of mechanics, basic overhaul and maintenance skills (desirable);
- Proven organizational skills including abilities to plan, prioritize and ensure work is accomplished according to established requirements and targets;
- With ability to work under pressure and with availability to work whenever necessary outside normal business hours, on weekends and holidays;
- Knowledge of the Portuguese language (spoken and written);
- To be a self-motivated and humble individual in relation to the communities, colleagues and other people that come into contact with Save the Children;
