The driver is contracted

• In support of project-related activities, under instructions from their hierarchical and/or technical manager. Through logistics, they must keep their supervisor informed of all problems relating to the means of transport under their responsibility.

Qualifications and Skills

Your main responsibilities are:

• Ensuring during transport Direct agents, if necessary.
  
• Transporters carrying out activities within the scope of the project
  
• Transporting materials and equipment as required and requested by GiveDirectly.
  
• Ensuring the availability and proper functioning of the means of transport that are returned to you and that you are responsible for for the duration of your employment;
  
• Regularly checking (daily, weekly and monthly) the condition of the means of transport under your responsibility;
  
• Fill in the daily log book for each movement made with the vehicle.
  
• Be available to carry out service missions in the field.
  
• Maintenance of resources;
  
• Checking the availability of first aid equipment (first aid kit, fire extinguisher) and emergency equipment (toolbox, planks of wood, hoe, machete) on board the vehicle under their responsibility;
  
• Monitoring and reporting kilometres;
  
• Monitoring and reporting on fuel and engine oil consumption;
  
• Being responsible
  

Profile sought

• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience as a field driver.
  
• Professional experience of supervising trolleys in an international NGO
  
• Experience in car mechanics would be an advantage
  
• Experience of working in the humanitarian field.
  
• Ability to work in a team
  
• Excellent communication skills
  
• Willingness and ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of difficulties and frustrating working conditions.
  
• Proficiency in the local languages of the target community;
  
• Good knowledge of the project areas (Northern Zone)
  
• Good physical condition and ability to cope with difficult weather conditions and terrain
