SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL (SCI), a humanitarian non-profit organization with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for (2) Education Officer positions.

The Education Officer is directly implementing education activities to the beneficiaries as part of the ECW Education Programme in Cabo Delgado province in Chiure, Metuge, Mecufi and Pemba.

Qualifications

Degree in areas related to Education, Social Sciences and Community Development;

Experience and Skills

Essential

At least two (2) years experience in practical management of education programs and implementation of community development programs;
Proven organisational skills including abilities to plan, prioritise and deliver work in accordance with established requirements and targets;
Experience in Inclusive Education,
Familiar with the national system of teaching and learning in primary education,
Experience of working with the SDEJT, teachers, school council and pupils;
Experience of working with children;
Experience in training and facilitation in psychosocial support, safeguarding children’s rights, inclusive education and gender equality (from civil society, teachers and other social actors);
Demonstrated practical knowledge on the principles and challenges related to mainstreaming gender equality in development programming;
Excellent activity planning skills and results oriented;
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Portuguese and lingua;
Computer knowledge in packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email, Internet and other software).

Desirable

Experience in designing, implementing and managing educational programs in Mozambique or similar contexts;
Understanding of gender sensitive teaching and learning processes and environments;
Experience in ongoing evaluation, monitoring of improvements in the education context and
Strong capacity building skills.
