Qualifications and Skills

1 – A degree in a Social Science course (Anthropology,
Demography, Geography, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology), or a high school diploma
or equivalent field experience in health research;
2.Previous experience in field research, previous experience in the
use of qualitative field research methodologies preferred;
3.Prior experience in working with high-risk populations;
4.Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision

5.Strong organisational skills;
6.Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; and

7.Previous experience in interviewing about sensitive or
stigmatized behaviours will be an asset

Responsibilities

1.Have a thorough knowledge of the research protocol, operational manual and
interview scripts;
2.Work with the Community Liaison Coordinator and outreach workers
to identify and recruit participants for face-to-face interviews and focus groups

4.Interviewing individuals and groups to obtain and document relevant information based on a standardized field interview manual;
5.Ensure data quality and confidentiality;
6.Conduct pre- and post-interview field trips to verify neighbourhoods, landmarks or other
locations of interest to the target population;
7. Produce detailed field notes and daily summaries of interviews, discussions and other field activities; and
