Short Description/ Purpose of Job

The role of the Field Coordinator is to oversee the implementation of WV’s work in a defined geographical area, usually one or two Administrative Posts, providing leadership to the Development Officers, liaising with the government at the Administrative Post level, and facilitating relationships with other members of the Programme team. The Field Coordinators are responsible for implementing project activities in their geographical area and supervising 7 Development Officers. The Field Coordinators are also the focal points for HEA and advocacy work within the District programme.

Qualifications and Skills

 

1- Staff management

Ensure that DOs have clear weekly and monthly plans, and that these reflect the requirements that relate to the Technical Coordinators.
Facilitate effective relationships between DOs and Technical Coordinators, so that they work and coordinate towards common objectives identified in the project and plans.
Responsible for training the DOs, valuing their commitment, competence and critical thinking.
2-Local relations and advocacy at local level

Build and maintain relationships with key partners and community groups within administrative post; Visit children, families, communities and community groups frequently to encourage and build relationships.
Lead the development and implementation of a plan to form, facilitate and manage effective relationships and partnerships with community partners, local government and CBOs.
WV focal point in the P.A.
3- M&E-Planning-Reporting-Finance

Ensure that in the design and planning process, government and community contributions and responsibilities are identified and agreed, so that projects become jointly owned.
Contribute to the preparation of annual project plans, detailing the goals to be achieved P. A.
Participating in the review of monthly financial reports, contributing information to explain variations and identifying problems
4- Programme Implementation and Management

-Carry out monitoring visits to projects to assess progress against targets and to offer coaching and direction on activities in areas where improvements need to be made

Hold 2-weekly reflection and learning meetings with staff to identify successes and challenges and to document lessons learnt

Ensure DIP is done weekly and monthly so that project activities are implemented on time.
5-Management of Child Sponsorship and Protection

Facilitate coordination between Development Officers, Sponsorship Officers and Sponsorship coordinators to ensure that the necessary technical support is given to Development Officers in the area of sponsorship.
Ensure that staff understand and follow WV’s child protection policy.
Ensure that sponsorship programming targets are integrated into Development Officers’ weekly and monthly plans.
