Key Responsibilities:

The purpose of the treasurer’s function is to ensure good management of cash and cheques by recording transactions properly and in accordance with World Vision’s financial requirements contributing to the full operation of the projects efficiently and effectively within the Maganja da Costa district.

Main tasks:

Ensure that funds under their management are secure
Ensure that payments are made only when requests are reasonably and properly reviewed and approved with proper supporting documents.
Issue cheques and related cash disbursement documents and obtain signatures.
Maintain an updated cash book and cheque register.
Maintain petty cash at established level and ensure replenishment is made based on the petty cash policy
Maintain an updated staff advances ledger and ensure that no new advances are made before the previous balance is settled.
Prepare and submit the Voucher Interface (VI) to the Provincial Accountant/District Finance Officer (daily).
Ensure that information and or/data are prepared daily in the cash book
Prepare information and or/data for monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and monthly cash book
Ensure sequential completion of all cash vouchers, deposit vouchers and book entry vouchers.
Convey the Christian ethic of World Vision and demonstrate quality of spiritual life that are exemplary to others.
Attend weekly devotional services
