Short Description/ Purpose of Job
Save the Children is currently implementing a food assistance activity for the development of a five year project called Okhokelamo ni Solha, aimed at mobilizing community participation for sustainable improved food and nutrition security and, resilience among extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households and communities in Zambezia.
The Warehouse Assistant will be responsible for general counting of Receipts, random weighing bags, counting during Dispatches at the main warehouse in Mocuba, Morrumbala and Alto-Molocue warehouse following USAID Title II regulations.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the job holder is expected to work outside of the normal job profile and can vary work hours accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills
- The potential candidate should have at least 12th grade education with some basic training in warehousing and proven relevant experience.
Experience and Skills
- Experience in a similar position of at least two years;
- Candidates should also have at least 2 years experience in a related field, preferably with an NGO working in commodity warehouse management;
- This position requires a mature, self-driven candidate with dedication and the ability to work with little or no supervision;
- Microsoft Excel;
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese; - Have worked in NGO warehouse management in a supervisory role;
- Ability to work under pressure and availability for flexible hours in case of major emergencies;
- Good interpersonal relationship with ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, considering cultural and language difficulties.
Desirable
- Able to work long hours while receiving goods.
- Must demonstrate willingness to learn and work with others as a team.
Essential
Candidates should also have at least 2 years experience in a related field, preferably with an NGO working in warehouse management with storage capacity of 2000MT.
Ability to supervise shippers to unload many trucks during port receptions in order to avoid duplication costs.
Good command of oral and written mathematics is Obligatory.
