Short Description/ Purpose of Job
The WASH Technical Leader will be responsible for ensuring adequate compliance with the technical parameters associated with the implementation of the project related to WASH activities in the designated districts, under the supervision of the Deputy Project Manager (DCoP) – Coordinator of the Technical component.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Public Health, or engineering in the areas of water and sanitation, or other equivalent studies in the field of WASH.
- Experience and Skills
Essential
- It is highly desirable to have at least seven (7) years’ experience in designing, implementing or supporting WASH programming in Mozambique, preferably in Zambezia province;
- Strong technical skills in the field of interventions to promote healthy hygiene habits and adequate environmental sanitation (social and behavioural change), resilient WASH infrastructure, sanitation marketing and strengthening the capacity of local water management structures;
- Track record of providing technical assistance to government in the context of strengthening programme capacities in the area of WASH, through government health systems, service delivery processes and models, and behaviour change communication in low-income countries;
- Solid experience in developing tools and training materials on effective communication for behaviour change;
- Proven problem-solving skills, collaborative experience, creativity and willingness to innovate;
- Familiarity with and understanding of USAID or other donor policies and procedures. Experience of implementing community-based projects;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a team.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating indicators in the field of nutrition;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and English is a must.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
Desirable
- Experience in teamwork and collaboration.
- Fluency in Elomue or Senna languages.
- Previous experience of working in Zambezia.
